A COLLECTION OF DOCUMENTS FROM THE EMILY HARVEY GALLERY

£950.00

A COLLECTION OF DOCUMENTS RELATING TO THE EMILY HARVEY GALLERY 1985 - 2004

Emily Harvey was a friend of many Fluxus affiliated artists and in 1985 bought the NYC gallery of Jean Dupuy and after renaming it as her own began an extensive series of exhibitions, the vast majority of which, showed her friends in the movement. The gallery lasted a period of 19 years and sadly ceased functioning with the owner's death from cancer in 2004 although a move to Venice after the millennium reduced activities in its last years.

Here we offer an extensive number of 54 announcement cards from the period 1983 - 2002 (including one card from a short period where whilst Harvey had been involved in the exhibition she had not officially formed the gallery), 7 publications including press releases and gallery stationery, one poster/exhibition catalogue, and 2 announcement objects also serving as object multiples.

Additionally we also offer 4 items produced and published by Emily Harvey prior to the opening of her gallery (when the gallery was owned by Jean Dupuy and called the Grommet Gallery), the brochure distributed to mourners at the memorial event held in celebration of Harvey's life in 2004.

A complete list of the 70 items offered is available on request.
