7000 EICHEN (WITH LAID IN MAP OF WHERE THE TREES WERE PLANTED)

£85.00

Koln: Konig, 1987
24 x 17cm, 260pp plus card covers and pictorial dustjacket. Published in the year after Beuys' death this is a thorough documentation of the planting of 7,000 oak (and other) trees alongside buried basalt stones in the city of Kassel in 1982. Many b/w images are found scattered in the texts.
Laid in as issued:
61.5 x 72.5cm black and green map indicating the site of each of the trees (folded to fit the book). A fascinating and enjoyable item - apparently a recent mayor in the city has in fact removed some of the trees!
Both fine.
