19.7 x 15cm. 196pp. Printed wrappers. First edition of this uncommon study of Breton. An unnumbered copy aside from 975 numbered copies on alfa (after 25 on velin). Castre was a co-founder of the important Marxist revue 'Clarte', with whom the Surrealists allied during the height of their activism in and about the Communist Party (late 20's - early 30's). The manifest 'La Revolution d'abord et Toujours' resulted from this collaboration. Some minor foxing to very edges and back cover otherwise a vg example of this early appraisal.
