SEPT MANIFESTES DADA TWO DEDICATIONS + DRAWING SIGNED!!!

£1,850.00

WITH TWO, YES TWO, DIFFERENT DEDICATIONS FROM TZARA AND A SMALL DRAWING

Tzara, Tristan and Francis Picabia
SEPT MANIFESTES DADA
Paris: Editions Du Diorama - Jean Budry & Co., 1920.
8vo, 104pp, covers. First edition of Tzara's collected speeches and writings from 1916 - 1920 along with selected works by others - including Picabia who also offers 10 illustrations herein (some almost duplicate of each other). By this point Tzara and Picabia were hardly speaking. This copy has two different dedications from Tzara in ink the most recent below the other - the first dedication from 1921 has been scored through and the second dedication is rather amusingly re-dedicated with the comment "A bas X" to indicate that Tzara has "removed" the original dedication. There is also a small drawing of a flower by Tzara. One of 300 copies released, this copy has some condition issues:  there is minor browning and wear to
covers, there is a long tear on the spine with no paper loss that would require some (easy) repair and there is an ovoid groove (1cm x 0.3cm) along the top right corner of the last 30 or so pages. Otherwise rare especially with the dedications. Priced to reflect damage and scarcity - a balancing act.
