10.5 x 15cm, 2pp commercial colour postcard displaying a Mesen's work "The world of plenty" with verso a lengthy hand written reply in French to an unknown correspondent declining the possibility of Mesen's showing at the gallery "Arcanes" in Paris - a gallery that had a tradition of working with the Parisian surrealists including Breton. Mesens notes that he is forced to decline because he has been invited to show in Geneva, Bale, Frankfurt, Koln, Stuttgart, twice in Amsterdam and additionally in Paris and Belgium - although the tone of the note is formal and it appears Mesen's lack of enthusiasm is more than just being overworked. Signed and dated the card is in very good condition.
