LITTERATURE REVUE MENSUELLE NR 8. Directeurs: Andre Breton, Louis Aragon &
Philippe Soupault
Paris: Litterature, octobre 1919
23 x 14.4cm, 32pp. Original wrappers. Letterpress. The eighth number of the dadaist revue. Includes texts and poetic works by Apollinaire, Breton and Soupault - the first evidence of the collaborative novel Les Champs Magnetiques is printed here as a fragment - Tzara, Jacob, Aragon, Eluard and la Rochelle. The increased establishment of the group is apparent by the larger number of pages found in this number where a wider range of articles by the (eventual) core members of the surrealist grouping (with the exception of Tzara) are in evidence. This is an unnumbered copy after the du tete of only 15 copies. The staples displaying evidence of rust, and the area around the staples is slightly worn and there is some very minor browning to wrappers but this is else a very good example of a particularly scarce revue.
