19.7 x 12.4cm, 72pp. Original wrappers. First edition of this patriotic collection of poems published to inspire resistance to the forces of facism. The title translates to The Homeland and the poet cites Karel Hynek MAcha, Jaroslav Vrchlick, Frantiek Xaver Halda as examples of national pride and the worth of struggling for the nation's heritage. One page is threatening to come away from the aging glue and there is a former owner's handwritten name on the half-title and a red rubber stamp impression of the same owner on the next page but this is an important book in mostly very good condition. Tipped onto the back of the first end paper is a contemporary newspaper cutting reviewing the book.
