22 x 13cm, 176pp plus card covers. First edition of this novel in the format of a book - the original publication was in a journal "La Revue Blanche" in 1902. The hero of the novel - the Super Male - proves his boasted ability to be able to make love to a woman endlessly (in actuality 82 times before the woman faints in the novel's, err, climax), cycle for outrageous distances and finally be merged with a machine in order to become even more amazing - an act of hubris that finally kills him. The spine here has been repaired with a torn piece reglued in place at the top - else VG if the paper a little browned.
