£650.00

(Surrealist periodical).
N.E.O.N. N'etre rien. Etre tout. Ouvrir l'etre. Neant. Oubli. Etre. No's 1, 3, 5 (of 5 numbers published). Redaction: Sarane Alexandrian, Henri (Jindrich) Heisler, Vera Herold, Stanislas Rodanski, Claude Tarnaud (1-3). J.L. Bedouin, Andre Breton, Pierre Demarne, Jindrich Heisler & Benjamin Peret (5).
Paris: Groupe Surrealiste, Jan. 1948 - Mai, 1949.
Four issues. Uniformly 37.5  x 60cm. 4pp. per. Each with inter textual typo-pictorial images and drawings by various contributors. Folded tabloid format. A majority run (lacking only issues 2 and 4) of this most intriguing elusive and ephemeral of post-WWII Surrealist revues. Each number with an imaginative and striking overall typographic design (Frederick Kiesler's contribution to issue 1), which illuminates the numerous thematically synched text and image compositions by Victor Brauner, Andre Breton, Julien Gracq, Jacques & Vera Herold, J.P. Duprey, Max Ernst, Pierre Mabille, Roberto Matta, Jindrich Styrsky, Toyen, Heisler, Peret, et. al. Each issue with some stress and wear at central folds and typical browning owing to mediocre tabloid stock, else all are solid and very good examples. Rarely encountered.
