25 x 29cm, unpaginated, grey cloth boards, original pictorial dust jacket. First edition of Mann's documentation of her children's Virginia upbringing which was clearly without the usual strictures of clothing and with adults around who seem to encourage the kids to enjoy play and laughter without too much intervention and allowing a great deal of dirt to be thrown around and not washed off. Arcadian really even if some have seen sinister overtones in what is really just natural. This copy of this scarce first edition is signed by Mann on the title page. Fine.
