Oz Obscenity Trial
INDEPENDENCE DAY CARNIVAL - A CELEBRATION OF PEOPLE'S RIGHTS
London: Oz Obscenity Trial Fund, 1971
41 x 35cm printed on both sides in black on light lilac coloured paper - announcing the "Independence Day Carnival - A Celebration of People's Rights" in Hyde Park, July 4, 1971. The mass rally included a "Smoke-In Picnic Theatre" and "Massed Choirs of the Underground". The event was in support of the Oz defendants in the Obscenity Trial and was supported by Release, Bit, Agit-Prop, Gay Liberation Front, Advise, Street Aid, Dwarves (British kabouters), UPS and other community groups. A secondary aspect of the campaign was to protest against the Misuse of Drugs Act, censorship laws and the growing climate of government repression. On the reverse is a long article on the Oz trial illustrated with the Honeybunch Kaminski logo. In very fine condition. Scarce, period documentation.
