Munich: Galerie Heiner Freidrich, 1971 20.2 x 13.5cm (image) on 49.5 x 40cm paper (wide margins) colour heliogravure on ivory rag paper. Signed, dated and numbered in pencil on the lower margin from an edition of strictly 100 (there are no known artist's proofs nor trail proofs). One of a number of photographs taken by Richter during a visit to the Canary Isles - and reproduced as the first in a series of such landscapes. The choice of the technique for reproduction is significant - allowing the image to be faithfully rendered but softened - to reflect Richter's interest in blurred imagery. Additionally each print is slightly unique since each print was created one by one - creating differences in saturation. Fine and a scarce and desirable early Richter work. Framed conservationally.
