Robert Morris

UNTITLED (OBSERVATORY/CONSPIRACY: THE ARTIST AS WITNESS)

£495.00

NYC: Centre for Consitutional Rights, 1974 41.7 x 64cm, zincography in black and white and silver signed and dated by Morris from an edition of only 150 copies. Morris's contribution to a portfolio to raise money for the CCR: the work displays a image of a land art project where the pole star can be seen at all times of day and night by cutting a shaft deep into a mountain (the idea is based on a popular myth that if one is deep enough in the earth then one can see the stars during daylight - sadly empirically this has been found not to be the case. We can forgive Morris for accepting this trope). Very good. Morris Prints nr 20. Fine.
