AN IMPORTANT AND UNIQUE CONCEPTUAL ARTWORK FROM 1968 Graham, Dan UNTITLED (TILL RECEIPT). UNIQUE WORK c. 1968 Mixed media: xerox, original paper till roll receipt, cardboard and wire. 28 x 21.5cm. This work was created by Graham at the Castelli Gallery on or around 1968 - it references the early conceptual art projects that the artist published in various art magazines: namely a series of reproductions of shopping receipts. Potentially a conceptual attack of the commodification of art - this work is a decidedly home-made artwork with a xerox reproduction of the till roll being collaged with the actual till roll used - all backed by a cardboard "frame" and wire "hanger". The glass was added later. The xerox (a thermal system) is browned and spotted but not too faded and the till roll is still mostly bright. Full provenance.
