Klaus Rinke

UNTITLED. UNIQUE PAINTING ON PAPER. c. 1965

£2,450.00

55 x 27cm, oil on paper. A large abstract work in dense overworked colours (mainly blue and brown and black very reminiscent of Dubuffet) which was created as a gift for the 'pataphysisist Yani Faux from his friend Rinke. Signed bottom left K. Rinke by scratching and numbered 143 on the back although this numbering was from Faux's estate's inventory system not Rinke's. Rinke came to prominence in the late 60s due to his conceptual art and installation works - exhibiting at both Documenta 5 and 6. His more recent works are more traditional in the sense of a return to painting and sculpture as his primary forms of artistic practice.  Image on request. Fine estate.
